How many characters fit on each bar, and what if a name is long?
Each bar fits up to 8 characters comfortably (CHARLIE, BENTLEY, WINSTON). For longer names, or names with spaces, we'll email before engraving to confirm spacing. A nickname (BUDDY, GUS, MILO) is often the cleanest option for very long names.
Can I add a bar later if I get another pet?
Each necklace ships with the bar count you ordered; the bars are fixed in place at the factory. For a new pet, the cleanest path is a second necklace to layer alongside this one. Some customers also keep one bar empty as a placeholder for a future pet.
