About

This is the widest canvas in the keychain lineup: a 45 × 27 mm rectangular plate of 316L surgical stainless steel, roughly four times the engraving area of a round disc. That extra room means the portrait holds finer detail, and your pet's name sits below it with space to breathe instead of crowding the edge. You send a photo, an artist redraws your pet by hand on a drawing tablet, and that hand-drawn portrait is laser-engraved into the steel along with the name.

The engraving is cut into the steel, not printed on top. It won't smudge, peel, or wash away. The plate itself is plated in 18k gold, 18k rose gold, or rhodium (the white-silver finish), each layered over 316L stainless steel that is naturally hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant. Keys, pockets, bags: the finish is built for the friction of daily carry.

If you already carry a disc keychain and want more room, or if a dog tag feels too military, the plate is the clean middle option. Same hand-drawn craft, same steel, a wider canvas. Part of our personalized pet keychain family.

FAQ
What kind of photo works best?
A clear, front-facing photo where we can see both eyes. Indoor lighting or natural daylight. Cropped headshots work better than full-body shots because the artist needs to see the face at detail level. If your photo won't engrave clearly at this size, we contact you before making it.
Will the engraving wear off on my keys?
The portrait is laser-cut into the steel surface, not printed or coated on top. It cannot smudge, peel, or fade with normal daily carry. The plating on the plate body is tarnish-resistant 18k gold or rhodium over 316L surgical stainless steel.
How is this different from the disc or dog tag keychain?
The plate is 45 × 27 mm, roughly four times the surface area of our round disc keychain. More room means finer portrait detail and space for the name without crowding. The disc is rounder and more compact; the dog tag has a taller, military-style silhouette. Same craft, same steel, different shapes.
Can I add more than one pet?
This keychain is designed for one pet portrait and one name. If you want to carry multiple pets, our disc keychain supports up to 4 portraits on stackable discs.
